Request a Seminar on Chronic Neurotoxin-Induced Illness
If you would like Dr. Shoemaker to present a seminar
to your group, which can include a medical screening of seminar attendees
for chronic, biotoxin-induced illness, you can request one here.
Dr. Shoemaker regularly presents seminars
to organizations and at scientific meetings around the world on chronic,
biotoxin-induced illness. For example, seminars were given in 2001 to
scientific organizations, including the International Neurotoxicology
Association in Estoril, Portugal; the Tick-Borne Disease Association
of the United Kingdom, the Lyme Disease Association in Princeton, NJ,
the International Institute of Neurobiology in Seattle, WA, the American
Academy of Environmental Medicine, the American Society of Bariatric
Physicians, the Endocrine Society, the American Diabetes Association,
the Association for Research on Vision and Ophthalmology and the CDC
Workshop for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Primary Care Providers.
Presentations were also given to non-scientific audiences
at local Audobon Society meetings, and to the occupants of many Federal
and state office buildings, churches, schools, and local businesses.
A number of seminars were followed by individual screening of audience
members, using exposure, symptom and previous diagnoses questionnaires
and the VCS (and acuity) test. Individuals showing potential for chronic,
biotoxin-induced illness were given materials and treatment protocols
for presentation to their local physician, a member of our network of
physicians, or were scheduled for an office visit with Dr. Shoemaker.
Seminars can provide an overview of how changes in our
environment are associated with an increasing incidence of chronic,
biotoxin-induced illness, or can be tailored to meet the interests of
the audience by focusing on particular types of exposure to biotoxins
or on particular disease diagnoses often associated with biotoxin exposure.
