Data reviews with written reports are for the assessment of existing data, do not require onsite visits, and are of two primary types. Dr. Shoemaker has reviewed data and provided reports for use by attorneys in tort cases, and for commercial or government organizations responding to employee or citizen concerns. The existing data are analyzed for types and durations of toxic exposure, and potential effects from those exposures are described based on a review of the scientific literature. In legal cases, the written reports are followed by participation in depositions, hearings and trials as needed. In response to organizational concerns, written reports may be followed by remediation plans, onsite investigations or field studies.
